Hard Kaur versus Taran Kaur Dhillion
We are two experiences in one person. I’m proud to be born in India, but growing up in UK and becoming Hard Kaur has also helped to be confident, strong and have a voice. Taran Kaur is the nice girl that you meet and want to take her home to your parents, but if you misbehave, this monster by the name of Hard Kaur comes out.
Current and New Projects?
I’m really excited about my new album, which will release in May 2012.
1x1 polls
I have been concentrating on Bollywood for the last three years and it’s been that long since my last album. There are a few film tracks coming up soon, but right now I’m doing my tours and shows. It’s very important for me as an artiste to travel and perform live in front of my fans. That’s how I grow as an artist and as an entertainer.
Composing for Tollywood

I would love to compose a song for a Telugu film. I have heard some Telugu rap in France once, many years ago while on tour. It is one of those Indian languages in which rap sounds amazing. Yeah that would be ‘killa’. (laughs)
Style statement
Street glamor with a hint of 60s and rock thug chick. I love my mohawks and big hair and at the same time I love the comfort of hip-hop street glamor. I also love wearing amazing dresses on the red carpet, but it has to be something different enough to represent Hard Kaur.
Acting Career
I’m not acting in any film at the moment... But it was great to act alongside Akshay paaji in “Patiala House”. He was a great person to watch and hang with. It was an honor to work with Rishiji and Dimpleji. I have always admired Dimple Kapadia’s beauty and even now she is gorgeous. I would love to work with Ayan Mukerji, Milan Luthria or Anurag Kashyap — someone who likes to do something out of the ordinary and can help me to create something new
Current Indian Music scene
Right now, there are many new music producers coming on the scene and that’s a good thing. I think every year there are so many new Bollywood music trends, but is it enough? I think we can be growing much faster than we are, if music, musicians and artistes get the kind of support other industries get in this country.
